Sakinah is a privacy-first Muslim companion app providing prayer times, Qibla compass, Quran reading, Tasbeeh counter, Duas, Islamic calendar, mosque finder, and Zakat calculator.
The app is published by an independent developer. This document combines our Terms of Use (which govern how you may use Sakinah) and our Privacy Policy (which explains what personal information we collect and what we do with it). By downloading, installing, or using Sakinah, you agree to both.
If you have any questions about this document, you can email us at yanoutech@163.com.
By downloading, installing, or using Sakinah, you confirm that you have read these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy below, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use Sakinah.
Sakinah is a personal Muslim companion app. It provides:
Some features may change, be added, or be removed as Sakinah develops.
Sakinah does not require an account. You must be at least 13 years old to use premium features. If you live in a country where the minimum age for consenting to online services is higher than 13, you must meet your country's age requirement.
When using Sakinah, you agree not to:
Sakinah offers a premium tier with three options:
Premium features are sold through the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android) using the platforms' standard in-app purchase mechanisms. Apple and Google handle payment processing; we do not see or store your full payment card details. Subscription management (renewal, cancellation, refunds) follows each platform's standard rules.
The text of the Holy Quran is not subject to copyright. Sakinah does not claim any rights in the Quranic text itself. The Sakinah app itself, including its design, branding, code, and copy, is owned by its developer. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on your own devices.
Sakinah is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Prayer times are calculated based on your selected method and your device's location. We recommend you confirm prayer times against a local trusted source where possible. The Quran text is displayed from reputable sources, but we do not warrant that they are free of error in every edge case.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and conditions. We are not liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of Sakinah.
We may change these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Your continued use of Sakinah after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Your prayers, your worship, your relationship with Allah: these are some of the most personal parts of your life. We take that seriously. Sakinah is built on the belief that an app for worship should not behave like an app for engagement metrics.
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features:
We use the above information solely to:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
All personal data — including prayer logs, Tasbeeh counts, cycle tracking, and settings — is stored locally on your device using secure storage. We do not operate any external servers for user data. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymous.
Sakinah uses the following third-party services:
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:
Sakinah includes a Kids Mode with interactive learning features. The app does not collect any personal information from children. All kids mode data (stickers, progress) is stored locally on the device.
Because all personal data is stored locally on your device, we do not retain your data on any server. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 14 months by Firebase, in accordance with their standard policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app. Your continued use of Sakinah after a change means you accept the updated policy.
